The sirloin tip roast (also known as round tip roast) is cut from the hindquarters, adjacent to the sirloin. The sirloin tip roast is flavorful and should be braised or stewed. The sirloin tip roast can also be used for kebabs or slowly oven-roasted at a low temperature.
Preheat oven to 450°F. Rub roast with olive oil and seasonings. Place roast on top of onions. Roast at 450°F for 15 minutes. Remove from oven (a few degrees before it's done, I usually take mine out at about 142°F and loosely tent with foil.
